Our PUWER and LOLER Awareness Training course specially caters to purchasing officers, managers and team safety leaders who are responsible for supervising others, lifting equipment and the safety of machinery in a workplace. The course is designed to arm candidates with the skills they require to recognise legal safety requirements so that they can use tools, equipments and other lifting equipment safely and correctly.
PUWER Awareness Training
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) is important legislation designed to ensure that operating equipment in a workplace is always safe to use. PUWER Awareness Training informs delegates of their responsibilities in line with this legislation. The course covers how to determine whether working equipment is safe to use, how to conduct risk assessment, and how to minimise hazards to ensure that health and safety is correctly managed. It also covers practical health and safety information and control measures in relation to equipment used.
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations state that all employers and workplaces must take steps to ensure that their workers have sufficient health and safety training in relation to the use of work equipment and associated hazards. This includes workplaces such as factories, shop floors, medical facilities, retail sites, construction sites and agricultural sites.
LOLER Awareness Training
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) aim to reduce the likelihood of dangerous accidents and incidents occurring during lifting operations in a place of work. This course ensures that delegates thoroughly understand such legislation and what is expected of them, including selecting the correct equipment, how to perform tasks correctly, and how to plan lifting operations so they are safe and in line with legislation.
Lifting operations can pose great risks to health and safety if they are not conducted properly and with care. LOLER regulations ensure that both employers and staff are aware of their responsibilities to minimise hazards.
Our PUWER / LOLER Awareness Training Course covers:
- Current legislation, employer and employees’ responsibilities
- Hazards associated with lifting and other mechanical equipment
- Risk assessments
- Safe lifting operations
- Planning of lifting operations
- Control measures
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate. Courses can take the format of one full day or a half-day of training.
