Risk assessment is something that we all do many times each day going through our daily life. In 1993 changes in legislation brought the need for systematic risk assessments in to sharp focus into every workplace. This course is designed for all employees who are required to undertake risk assessments within their workplace so that the organisation can take steps to minimise the opportunity for employees and others to be hurt during their work activities.
To provide delegates with the practical knowledge and skills to understand what is required to complete a systematic evaluation of the hazards and risks in a workplace and to identify and implement appropriate control measures to eliminate or minimise the risk to workers and others.

- Overview of current legislation
- Duties of the employer & employee
- Types of accidents and injuries
- A detailed analysis of the principles of general risk assessment
- Introduction to suitable and sufficient risk assessment methodologies
This course will include practical exercises aimed at developing the hazard spotting and risk assessment skills necessary to meet the law and make a workplace safer.
On completion of this course a Phoenix Safety certificate will be awarded to successful delegates.
This course is focused around a practical hands approach. Delegates should be capable of going from this course and putting what they have learnt into practice in the workplace. This course is best developed around an organisations own risk assessment methods. Where these are not available we will introduce the delegates to standard risk assessment methods that they can take back to their own organisation.
